Victim of April shooting in Davenport dies of injuries
UPDATE: The person shot April 20 in Davenport has died as a result of the injuries, police announced Friday.
Aaryis Henderson, 22, of Rock Island, was found with a gunshot wound by Davenport Police in the area of 3700 Bridge Avenue late on April 20 after a report of gunfire.
This incident remains under investigation.
EARLIER UPDATE: Davenport Police responded to the area of 3700 Bridge Avenue on Thursday after a report of gunfire.
It happened around 11:42 p.m.
Police say they found a 22-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
According to Davenport Police, this does not appear to be a random act of violence.
No word on any arrests yet, but the incident remains under investigation.
EARLIER UPDATE: A heavy police presence was near an apartment complex about 1 a.m. Friday just north of Kimberly Road on Bridge Avenue in Davenport.
Our Local 4 News crew saw crime-scene tape set up in the area where multiple squad cars were parked, several with emergency lights flashing.
