A Dallas-area gospel singer and pastor known as "The Apostle" has been arrested on child sex abuse charges. Darrell Maurice Yancey, 59, of Grand Prairie, was taken into custody Thursday by Arlington police, reported the Dallas Morning News. He faces three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and four counts of sexual assault of a child, as well as a charge of driving with an invalid license. The abuse allegation stem back to the 1990s and early 2000s.

The natural phenomenon, which occurs between November and March, has triggered severe weather in South America. A landslide has hit Peru, burying some 80 houses. The avalanche of rocks and mud fell on a town in the Huanuco province, about 350km northeast of Lima, according to Peru’s civil defence agency INDECI. Emergency shelters have been set up for the affected families and troops sent to secure the area. Fortunately, no death was reported in the landslide, but the rains are expected to continue and there is a risk of more landslides in the coming weeks.
